MS Dhoni: The most successful Indian captain (Why?)

Why do critics call Dhoni the most successful captain India ever had?
what makes him so special??

There are so many ways to answer these questions but, following are the most important facts:

  •  India lifted the 2011 ODI World Cup   under his captaincy,

  • India lifted the very first T20 World Cup in 2007 under his captaincy,

  • India topped the ICC ranking in both test and ODI  under his captaincy,

These three facts make him so special that critics call him the most successful captain India ever had. Indian team never achieved all these things playing under any other skipper.

Some statistics to understand his contribution  for team India as Skipper:

Dhoni as a captain in:
Tests: 60  played   27  won (45%)
ODI  : 199 played 110 won (55.27%)
T20I : 70   Played  41  won ( 58.57%)

Total :329 played 178 won (54.10%)

[Better than any other captain India ever had]

Note: There are 33 matches which are either had no results or tied, if these are not considered then these figures will be 178 wins 118 lost (60.14%)

  1. Obviously its not only the figures/numbers which we see and conclude that he is one of the best captain in cricket world. There are lot of other qualities that the game of cricket has ever seen. The qualities like being uninhibited and confident, managing egos and legacy personalities, handling success and failure, staying focused, team playing, versality etc.Dhoni has arsenal of leadership skills that can be apply to business and entrepreneurs.off course his list of achievements are countless and probably it would use this entire comment box space if I didn't stop here✌
